Becoming MI™

A Developmental Community
for

People Whose Work Depends on
Human Connection

Purposeful
Practice

Becoming MI™ is a structured, experience-based community designed for people whose work centers on human connection — whether in criminal justice, healthcare, child welfare, behavioral health, education, nonprofit leadership, or any environment where conversations shape outcomes.

It offers a steady rhythm of practice where you can think through something meaningful, support someone else with intention, and observe the dynamics of real interaction in a way that helps you understand yourself more clearly.

This is development, not training. Identity, not performance.
Practice, not pressure.

Becoming MI

Empowers teams by strengthening

In many professions, people are continually asked to support others, navigate complex interactions, and carry emotional and relational responsibility. Yet few structures exist to support their development. Helpers often absorb the work alone, reflect alone, and try to grow alone. Becoming MI® gives people a place to return to — a reliable structure where they can slow down, explore something important, and reconnect to who they are becoming.

This community exists to offer:

  • A consistent space for clarity and reflection
  • grounded support instead of advice or correction
  • a developmental rhythm you can rely on throughout the year
  • a community of people who value showing up with intention.
How It Works

Each session uses a simple triad structure that keeps the experience predictable, supportive, and meaningful. Participants rotate through three roles:

The Person Sharing

You bring something meaningful you want to think through — a moment, a decision, a tension, or a question. The structure helps you sort through it with more clarity.

The Practitioner

You support the Person Sharing using MI-consistent presence. You reflect, ask thoughtful questions, and help the person hear themselves more clearly. It’s not about technique — it’s about presence.

The Observer

You watch the interaction attentively and share what stood out after the round ends — the moments when something shifted, became clearer, or took on new meaning.

What You Will Gain

Participants consistently describe:

  • Leaving with more clarity about something that matters.
  • Understanding themselves better.
  • Becoming steadier and more grounded in challenging interactions.
  • Recognizing patterns in how they show up.
  • Learning from others without pressure.
  • Feeling part of a community that values intention and presence.

Becoming MI™ helps people carry MI Spirit and identity-forward practices into their daily work — in ways that last.

This is not a one-off session. It is a developmental rhythm designed to support growth across your entire year.
